    Map tiles pre-downloaded on first run, differential refresh on changes. The app works in the subway without signal.

    Schedule delta updates

    Instead of 're-download the whole file', we only get the diff vs the last version. Daily update = 50KB, not 5MB.

    AdMob with rate limiting

    Maximum 1 ad every 5 minutes, never during an active route. Revenue is OK without driving the user away.

    Hard performance budget

    The app starts in under 2s on an iPhone 6S. UI renders at under 16ms per frame. We profile before adding features.
